Using up scraps

I always try really hard to use up as much of my paper as I can. That helps justify me buying more! Lol! So in the spirit of purging, I tried to use up the last of my Bella paper while scrapping over at Nona's last week. I used one of my most loved and used stamp set, Treasure Life as well as the Sept. SOTM, Treasures. (ha ha! "Treasure Life" and "Treasures"! how funny!) Since some of my pieces are small and random, some of the layouts are repetitive and sometimes a little odd. Case in point: The last card; not my favorite. I'm selling these at work for Breast Cancer.
Anyways, hope you like them. I'll be posting more tomorrow.
Materials: All CTMH. Bella L2pp, Treasure Life ss, Treasures ss, Card Commentary ss, chocolate, pansy purple, and hollyhock inks, creme brulee ribbon round collection, sanding kit, sponge.

Craft Fair make & take

Sorry for the delayed post. My crazy busy weekend is finally over!
So here is what I made for all the guests at the Scrapbook day craft fair last Saturday. I wanted to make something fall-y and the CTMH Grace paper along with the Flourished Blessings stamp set made a perfect combo. I taught them a couple of techniques with this. The main one teaching them how to convert a standard A2 envelope into a square one to perfectly fit their 4x4 card. I learned this cool trick from my bloggin friend Rachel. (her tutorial is buried somewhere in her blog; couldn't find it, sorry) Such a simple technique. A little liquid glass to add some shine, which was a huge hit.

I had lots of fun meeting new people. So much so that the six hours just FLEW by!

Materials: All CTMH. Grace L2pp; Flourished Blessings ss; Holiday Commentary ss; chocolate, goldrush, and honey inks; liquid glass; copper bitty brads; edge distresser; sponge; 3d dots; corner rounder. Other: Standard A2 envelope.

Yippee for my other new Ketto! I thought she was perfect for this card. Sunflowers always remind me of fall and Halloween. Ever since I won Amy's blog candy last month, I've totally been CASEing her card layout! LOL!

Must finish my projects in time for "Glee" tonight! I'm sooo glad it's Wednesday again!

OK, so here's the Farm Fresh Friday challenge from last week that I said I needed to take a better picture of. The originals were in horrible light. Sorry for the delay. It was a sketch challenge and I had the perfect felt lace to use for it. Thanks to Nona for selling it at her crafter's sale!
Stay tuned this week for some Halloween fun!

Oct. Card Class round 2

Here are the two other cards we made for card class last Thursday.
For the first card, I really wanted to incorporate the new "Wonder" Heart-felt die cuts, so I chose a leaf for a fall-ish card. The layout is from the new "Wishes" card confidence book. Super simple and easy.
The second card of course HAD to be Halloween! I've seen different variations of the eyeball tree around on blogs and in magazines and had to try it out. Googly eyes are so fun! ....cutting out the tree on the other hand.... Most in the class whined about that, but they still had fun.
Materials: All CTMH. Grace L2 pp; goldrush and white daisy cs; Thoughtful Seasons ss, Playful Flourishes ss, Creepy Cobwebs ss, Grown with Love ss; cocoa, twilight, chocolate, and black inks; Wonder Heart-felt die cut; cocoa grosgrain ribbon; black collection ribbon round; embroidery floss. Other: Stickles, googly eyes.

CTMH Hostess party Make & Takes

Quick post.....
These are what we made for my friend Rachel's Close To My Heart party she hosted last night. The first item was a super simple bookmark to break the ice and get the newbies used to using the stamps and inks. The second is a multi-technique Halloween card. Rachel LOVES Halloween, so I knew I had to make something Halloweenie. This card taught them how to sponge, sand, edge distress, mask, dry emboss, selective stamping, and adding dimension with pop-dots and liquid glass.
Whew! That was a lot, but they all had loads of fun!
Materials for bookmark: All CTMH. Twitterpated L2pp, Twitterpated Workshop on the Go "exclusive" stamp set, chocolate, sweet leaf and crystal blue inks, chocolate ribbon round.
Materials for card: All CTMH. Goldrush, buttercup, black and white cs, October Word Puzzle ss, black ink, sponge, edge distresser, sanding kit, liquid glass, black ribbon round, 3d popdots, embossing stylus.

My first Ketto!!

HAPPY CARD MAKING DAY!!
As a birthday gift to myself, I decided to splurge and buy some Kettos from Stamping Bella. I've been in love with these when seeing artwork on other blogs. They're just so funky and fun! I might have a chance to sell cards at The Sweet Spot down in Fremont, and for those of you that don't live in my neck of the woods, this is a VERY eclectic city. Fremonters are all about local artists and funky ideas, so I think the Kettos fit perfectly.

This is going to be one of my sample cards to the spa's owner, Lara. I have been a customer at her shop for years, since she first started out in a room behind an art studio. Now Lara's business is so successful that she's purchased a larger space with a store front and lots of retail space! I'm so proud of Lara and her team! Makes me happy when people pursue their dreams and really make it happen!

Materials: Tatiana Ketto--Stamping Bella, dp--Sassafras Lass and Bella Blvd (orange circles), sentiment, ink, corner rounder, and cs--CTMH, velvet ricrac--AC, flower--Prima, Crayola colored pencils.

Up, up, and away!!

.......from work that is!! I'm sooooo glad my extended work week is OVER! Cannot wait to sleep in tomorrow....well for a few hours longer than normal since I'm having a garage sale tomorrow. If you live in the Seattle/Everett area, you should stop by! I'm selling LOADS of craft stuff! E-mail me for the addy if you can make it.
I've been eyeing this TGF stamp set for awhile, and was so excited to see that Sparkle decided to part with it and was selling it on her blog. (check out her stamp sale here) I had this scrap from my candy from Amy, and I thought it would be the perfect background for this image. I like how he floats off the card. I got to use my new houndstooth CB folder too!
Materials: Pig stamp and sentiment--TGF, inks, buttons, cs, liquid glass--CTMH, dp--Sassafras Lass, houndstooth CB folder, Stickles, 3d popdots.

Quick & Easy

......even though it only took me a week to complete it! Ha! I stamped and colored Reeta last week while scraping with Nona, Sparkle, Jenn, and Rachel and I FINALLY got around to finish it today! Putting the final project together really only took about 15 minutes. Yet again, I used my candy from Amy with the buttons and ribbon.
Sorry I've been away for awhile. Just got home from finishing our semi-annual store inventory at work. Whew! Glad that's done! But because of it, I've been working for the last 10 days in a row. :( Not having a day to sleep in really takes its toll on me. I just want to come home and veg....at least the nights I don't have some other obligation. Only one more workday and then I have a 3-day weekend! Yeah to recuperation!!
Materials: Reeta stamp--TGF, sentiment, Juniper and white cs, black ink, brads, hemp--CTMH, kraft paper, buttons, and ribbon--Amy's candy, Crayola colored pencils
