"Public service accouncement"

Soooo sorry I haven't been posting regularly. I have just been so busy and having a bunch of random things happen lately.

I was lucky enough to have made enough cards at CU to share while all the pipe work was going on in my condo, but they took 3 1/2 weeks to do it instead of the 1 1/2 they said it would take. :( Seriously cut into my crafty time! Then, after they were FINALLY done, my allegries blew in full force and totally drained my energy. THEN ("and then!")....once I was feeling better, I had to clean up ALL the construction dust and dirt. Let me tell you....that stuff gets EVERYWHERE!! I'm still finding random places where the dust decided to settle.

So now that all of that craziness is over, now I really, REALLY need to finish my taxes! That is my to-do today. Believe me, I am SERIOUSLY ready to get crafting again! My new Basic Grey paper packs have been sitting on my craft table for a week just pleading me to cut them up! Lol! I also have my new Unity KOTM to ink up too.

So I'm going to finish up all my "life" stuff so I can create some fun cards to share soon. Hopefully by Thursday or Friday. PLEASE keep following me! I really appreciate you all stopping by my blog on a regular basis and all your warm comments.

Oopsie!

Sorry I forgot to post yesterday! Had a little epiphany at a meeting last night that my last on was Monday. Oops! Darn life, getting away from me again.

So here's another favorite of mine from CU. Can you believe I'm STILL showing you cards from CU? I was a card-making machine! Isn't this Ketto so sweet?! I love here paired with this cute strawberry Nook & Pantry dp.

The pipe work in my condo is FINALLY done!! Now I just need to clean up all the construction dust (ughhh!) and re-organize and put back items I had to clear out so I can get crafting again!

My new love of kraft

I rediscovered kraft paper. Forgot how it gives that cool, natural look. This is another of my favorites created at CU. Isn't this stamp cute and fun?!

My friend Jackie is having a girls day with a tea party and has asked me to come and share a make&take for everybody. I think it's going to be lots of fun! I'll get to meet some cool new people too.

Scraps, scraps, scraps

I don't know if you're like me, but I buy the 6x6 paper packs and everytime I trim a full sheet down to a standard A2 size I keep EVERY scrap. Case in point, this card. The stripe pattern along the bottom is all scrap cuts. Even the green stripe across is a scrap from when I punched my border from yesterday's card. Guess that's why it takes me so long to get through my paper!
Going to a WHL Silvertips playoff game tonight! Going to be a great time. GO Tips!

Same layout, different Sarah Kay

This is the same EXACT paper layout I used for my last Sarah Kay card. These just go so well with this paper. I'm sad that I don't have any more Sarah Kay's to color. They sure were fun.

Survivor tonight! This season sure has been exciting. Heroes really need to win some challenges. Can't wait to see what happens this week!

Now, back to my Nook & Pantry creations.....(Lol!)

Kettos make me so happy! They're so fun and funky. She paired really well with this strip of (surprise!) Nook & Pantry paper. Another simple layout too. Simple, fun, done!

March Card Class!!

My March Card Class this time shows you how to use a waterbrush to color in images with your ink pads. We will be using my two must-have stamp sets of the CTMH Spring Idea Book: "Love You Forever" and "Togetherness". These cards also use the fun "Topstitch" paper that perfectly coordinates with the "Togetherness" stamp set.

If you live in the Seattle area, and you'd like to come to my second installment of my card class this month on Wednesday, March 31st at 7pm at my home, please e-mail me at skunamuffin@yahoo.com. The cost is only $7 for these 3 cards! Please RSVP by Sunday, March 28th. Feel free to invite a friend.

When I first saw this uber-cute "Love You Forever" set with the momma/baby combos of different animals and the quote from the children's book by Robert Munsch, I knew I had to have it. So perfect for baby cards and very fitting for Easter.

"Togetherness" is another great "stitching" stamp set. I really like the random look of the stitching used on the card below. The set also includes the fun flowers used on the last card.

Simple and elegant

I must say that this is one of my favorites I made while at CU. Very simple layout and just the one Unity stamp. Are you getting sick of seeing my Nook & Pantry paper yet? Lol! Just ordered the latest BG paper yesterday (along with some more Copics!) so I need to finish it off to make room.

Thank goodness I have all these cards from CU lined up for posts since I haven't been able to use my craft room in TWO weeks! My condo is having manatory work done on the water pipes and I've had workers in here daily. I can't even play on my kitchen table with all the construction dust everywhere. They finally had the inspection Friday, so they are starting to put up new sheetrock. Haven't even been able to use my own shower since they took down the panel behind the nobs to get to that piping. Good thing Mom and Dad live close by!

Stamps: Unity Feb. KOTM
Paper: BG Nook & Pantry, CTMH cs
Other: SU! ink, CTMH ink, Nestie Label 7, CB folder, Stardust gelly roller, foam tape, Ek corner rounder

Another Sarah Kay

Ya know what? A lot of people say how hard these Sarah Kay images are to color. They are a bit, but they turn out soooo beautiful when they're finished! I really like pairing (haha! "pear-ing") these ones with this Nook & Pantry dp. fits so perfectly together. Thanks again Sparkle for the image!
Having a table at a scrapbook day event at an elementary school today. Make & takes are all ready to go. We'll see if it's just as good, if not better than last time!

Busy and fun

Loving my latest Unity KOTM! This set was a lot of fun to play with at CU. The main image uses a stamp of these three flowers that I cut out separately so I could mask and layer them. Making my stamps work for me is what I love! I also used a masking technique to create the "clouds" behind my image. You'll be seeing that on tommorow's card too.

Add this to my favorites pile!

"Oh no! E00!!"

So while I was at CU, I had this plan to make all these cards. It "mostly" went off without a hitch....that was until two images into coloring with my Copics and my E00 finally ran out of ink! Arrgg!! It made me start playing with different skin tone options though. Like this one I used E34 and E31. Ketto looks a little like she's been hitting the tanning bed. Lol!

This is definately one of my favorites I made while at CU. Lets see how long it takes for me to finally cave and send it to someone. ;) Thanks for the image Donna!

Paper flowers

While at CU, I made a big batch of the paper flowers I did earlier last month. They were fun, but now I'm over making them. My CU buddy Kendra fell in love and started making her own. She actually makes some super cool flowers from magazines. I'll take a picture and share them.
Materials
Stamps: CMTH Playful Flourishes and Fringed Phrases
Paper: GP cs, BG Lemonade
Other: Paper flower, CTMH ink and ribbon, Stickles, MS border punch, BG button.

My first Sarah Kay

This was my first attempt at coloring a Sarah Kay image with my Copics. These are beautiful images, but boy! all that detail! This image was an RAK from Sparkle. You'll be seeing a lot of this BG Nook & Pantry dp. I used it a lot while at CU. Love it.

Stamps: RAK Sarah Kay image, CTMH Fringed Phrases
Paper: CTMH cs, BG Nook & Pantry dp

Medallion

I have been drooling over this SU! Medallion stamp since I first saw it on Naomi's blog a LONG time ago. Fotunately for me, my CU friend Kendra brought it with her and I was able to play with it! I kept adding and adding to this card, that now I'm not so sure about it, but I still like it.

Materials
Stamps: SU! Medallion, CTMH Playful Flourishes and For All Occasions
Paper: Misc. kraft
Other: CTMH inks, ribbon and liquid glass. Stickles, chalk ink

CU Winner!

Tresa had an art contest for all of us CU attendees. One category for layouts, and one for cards. Of course I entered the card one; that's what I do best right?! I actually made this the night we arrived at Lutherhaven. I used my newest Unity KOTM with the fun tree and cute little bird. I paper pieced the tree and used my Copics on the bird, for the grass, and on some of the tree detail. After all the votes we collected, I WON!! :D Tresa gave my a very nice CTMH tote bag and a new "Topstich" L2 paper pack! Yippee!!

And now my "picture of the day": my table-buddies, Kendra and Christina. These two ladies were SUPER nice and very talented. I had a great time getting to know them.

Materials
Stamps: Unity Feb. KOTM, CTMH With Love ss
Paper: CTMH cs, misc. dp, Bazzil, kraft
Other: Copics, EK corner rounder and border punch, CTMH inks and liquid glass, misc. buttons, foam tape

Nona's CU class and Make &Take

I'm not totally complete with my versions of Nona's cards and layout, so I'm sharing her pictures of her projects.

First, a very cool watercolored pencil class. Learned some new techniques.
Next is her 2-page layout using the super rad "You Rock" paper pack from CTMH. I really like this paper.

Now for the "picture of the day": Me and my friend, roomie, neighbor, and CTMH Upline Nona.
Hope you all have fun enjoying your regular tv schedules again. Miss the Olympics. :(

CU roomie gifts

I roomed with some very cool and VERY talented women at CU. In addition to my nifty name badge Tresa made, all these fun items were roomie gifts I received. Yummy candy, a luggage tag, a fun flower clip, notepad, and the oh-so-useful sticky pad of card inserts.

And here are the beautiful women I roomed with: Denise, Bren, Connie, Donna, Nona, and me. Thank you soooo much roomies! Best fun I've had staying up all night giggling and acting silly. Great friendships I'll truly cherish.

CU "classes"

Lets start off today's post with the CU group shot:

This cool sall hanging project was designed and taught by Denise Anderson-Turley. Isn't the picture of her grandson too adorable?!

Then, the oh-so-talented Bren Yule taught us how to make this super cool pendant she designed. That was a very cool craft to learn. I might actually try to make some more myself!

Nest is my "picture of the day". After coming back to my craft area from my make & take, I come in to find the ladies having a bubble blowing contest. Connie was the clear winner!

What a weekend!!

Well, I'm all slept-in and refreshed from my ULTRA-FUN weekend at Creative University! Let me tell you.....it was my first year at this event and it was one of the most serene and picturesque places I've been. Camp Lutherhaven sits on the edge of Lake Couer d'Alene in Idaho and was an excellent site for our crafty gathering. Just take a look for yourself:

This is one of my favorite pictures. I took it on a foggy Saturday morning while on a little hike around the camp. Loved how the fog was rolling in and all the layers of elements. My old camera still takes decent pics I guess!

Here's my little piece of crafty space. This was actually taken on the last morning when I had semi-cleaned up my space. See that ziploc full of cards above my mat? That's full of all the cards I made while at CU. I seriously made enough to post one everyday for the next month!

My "table buddy" Kendra became my new CU bff! I quickly learned that she LOVES glue tape and has a habit of accidentally laying stuff on her taped up elements. This pic is her trying to detach the dp for her current project from a page she completed the day before. Silly girl!
That's all for today. Stay tuned for ALL the projects I made and the stack of cards I just seemed to crank out at CU.
