Like no other

Hee hee! This Dahlia image makes me happy! Especially paired with this BG paper. The sketch is from CA&F Sketchy Saturday #14. Again, I'm so glad that I can upload my challenge entries into the TGF galleria and not have to them on my blog first. Hopefully I'll have time today to play with the FFF challenge and this week's Sketchy challenge.

2 takes on Sweet Sunday #64

I very rarely make square cards, and I don't know why. They're really cute and fun! This sketch is based of the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #64 from a while back. I tried to do something a little different with my Copics on this first card. I started by coloring the edges of my Nestie cutout with my dark purple, and then added the lighter by blending it together, and then I used my blending pen to "bleed" the color inward. It was interesting. Don't know if I'll ever do it again though. What do you think?

I had so much fun making the first cute little number that I decided to make another. Notice that this scooter image is my latest favorite? I really like it on this second card. The colors are very vibrant and fun! The pink circle dp is one of my favorite from this paper pack too.

So you all have fun watching "Glee" last night?!! I soooo missed Kristen Chenoweth! Her character is (as my friend Christine put it) "delightfully tacky". Lol! This was a very warm-and-fuzzy episode. LOVED Kurt and his song! Also loved the talk his dad had with Finn. Sad to see Kurt so hurt over them getting along though. Can't wait for next week!

Scoot on

This scooter is so fun! This time I gave it white-wall tires. Hee hee! I totally forgot I had these fun felt flowers and bright green buttons I bought from my LSS.

Speaking of my local scrapbook store.....IT'S CLOSING!!! Whaaaatt?!?! This is one of the last independant scrapbook stores left in my area. I really thought it was doing well. They even expanded last year. Guess they weren't doing that well..... Eventhough they were primarily a scrapbooking store, I would find fun things like this flower and they had a pretty large die-cut selection to cut your own images. I'm sad. Guess it'll be better for my Close TO My Heart business though! Optimisim!

Happy Birthday Dad!!

It's Dad's 60th birthday today!! Holy cow! He's getting old. Lol!! We're going to the casino to celebrate. He doesn't like people to make a big fuss over him, so the casino is a perfect way for us to be together, but not, all at the same time.
This jutebox image is a fun one to use for his card. Like how I wrote "60" in the glass? Haha! I've been having lots of fun with this Unity KOTM. This layout is from Unscripted Sketches #49. I liked playing off the circles in the image by adding the rhinestones. Rhinestones AND pink paper for a guy's card?! Lol! Hopefully the green paper will stand out more than the pink for my dad! He won't mind the pink though. He never wants gifts, but he always loves getting my cards.

Heart 2 Heart Challenge

This is the first time I've joined in on the fun over at Heart 2 Heart Challenges. This challenge blog is exclusively for those who "love" Close To My Heart and their products. This week's challenge is a sketch challenge. This card just came together naturally and easy for me.
As far as keeping up with challenges though.....I think I'll just play when I can. My life is too busy and crazy to try and make the required card in the required time frame. I'm lucky that some of the challenge blogs keep the links open.
Hope you all have a great Friday and weekend! Girls night at The Rock tonight, and Boy! do I need it!!
Materials: All CTMH. Bella L2pp, Colonial White cs, Chocolate cs, With Love ss, Fringed Phrases ss, hollyhock ribbon, smokey plum ink, chocolate ink, olive ink, colonial white brad.

You Rock! C4C#33

This little jutebox image is so fun! Paired with the sentiment, it's even better! I've been avoiding this particular sheet of dp from my BG Lemonade stack. I don't know what it is about it. I just wasn't a fan. But it works great on this card! The layout for this is based off of this week's Crazy 4 Challenges #33 which is a sketch challenge.
Survivor tonight! And FINALLY, it's the merge! Can't wait to see how the "Heroes" flip out when they realize Russell didn't use the idol like they wanted. Duh! He's a "Villian"!

MTSC #69

I love this scooter image from Unity. So fun. It was part of my March KOTM. I rotated the layout from Mercy's sketch: MTSC #69. I was inspired by my blogging friend Amy to use one of my (many) metal-rimmed tags as one of the elements for the layout. It worked perfectly!

Hope you all have a great Wednesday! One of two card classes tonight for me.

Mom, you rock!

Hee hee! I thought pairing this sentiment with Chelsea was perfect! I totally love Chelsea as a brunette. So cute! This card is made using the scraps from yesterday's card. It also follows this week's Sketchy Saturday challenge over at Club Anya & Friends. This rouched ribbon is soooo pretty and it's another one I bought off of my friend Chrissy at CU. AND!....I got my new Coluzzle oval guide in the mail this weekend! Now I can play with sketches more easily.
Glee is back again this week! Life is now complete! Lol!
Materials
Stamps: Chelsea-TGF, sentiment-Unity KOTM ("you rock") and Clear Stamps (mom)

Thanks Mom--FFF

Still loving my new Kioshi paper! I had this little scrap of dotted CTMH ribbon, and it matched perfectly with this paper. The layout follows this week's Farm Fresh Friday challenge which is a sketch challenge. Nice and simple sketch.
Needed to stock up on Mother's Day cards for the shop. Going down there today to check on stock and talk to the owner. She told me that she's confident in the sales of my cards enough to change our agreement from consignment to buying for resale! I'm soooo excited! We'll get together every few weeks and she'll go through the cards I brought to see which ones she thinks will sell. There will be an option for her to "swap" cards if some are not selling or if they're holiday related cards. This will really help with inventory on both sides too. Sounds like a win, win for both of us!

FFF (last week's)

Hey, at least I did it! Had too many other posts that had to go up first. So, LAST week's FFF challenge was to do some "Sring Cleaning". Time to clean up that 'ol work space and see what neat treasures got lost in the madness!

When I cleaned up my desk, I found this rouched ribbon flower I made quite a while back. The little scrap of hollyhock ribbon was also calling out to be used, so "viola"! Both made a cute accompanament to my friend Ruby here. I also used up some of the strips from when you used your border punch.....do ya see it? Can always use ANY kind of scrap!

Hope you all have a great weekend! My will be very laid back. If the sun holds out, I'll probably go for a walk around Greenlake or down to Edmonds beach.

Stamps: TGF-Ruby, CTMH-Fringed Phrases
Paper: BG Green at Heart, CTMH cs and green-dot dp

April Card Class

April Card Class. If you live in the greater Seattle area: Wednesday the 21st at 6pm, and Thursday the 22nd at 7pm. We make these three cards, and the cost is only $7! ...or FREE with a $30+ CTMH order! Space is limited, so if you would like to attend, please e-mail me via my sidebar.
I totally dig this "You Rock" paper pack from Close To My Heart! Isn't it cool?! Perfect for guy cards and teenager scrapbook layouts. The super-fun "Star Power" stamp set goes PERFECTLY with it too! So awesome!

This first card uses a layout design by Tresa Black. When I saw this on her blog, I knew it would be perfect for this card's layout design. I'll be teaching how to get cool color effects with your images by simply wiping ink off with a good-'ol baby wipe.

These next two card's layouts are loosely based off of examples from the Spring 2010 Idea Book. The first uses the NEW ""Rockin" Top Coat overlays for a cool effect. Wipe technique is used on this card too.

For this fun little square card, we'll be embossing copper powder onto the image and sentiment. Couldn't help but make the image mock a tattoo by writing "Mom"! Ha ha!

Materials: All CTMH. You Rock L2pp, Star Power ss, Say it in Style ss. Olive, outdoor denim, cranberry, black, and pansy purple inks, Rockin' Top Coat overlays, copper edge distresser, white daisy bigger brads.
Other: Coluzzle, copper embossing powder.

Mojo Wednesday-Unity style

So fellow Gleeksters....was last nights episode all that you hoped and waited for?! LOVED IT!! I totally missed Sue and her crazy antics. She's also slightly grotesque sometimes. Can't wait to see how all the new twists affect life at McKinley!

Now, on with the "show"!

I've been playing some more with my Unity March KOTM. Needed to squeeze as much play time in with this kit before the April one arrives any day! Fell in love with this little bracket stamp at first sight. I paired it with the quote from the same kit. So cute! My layout follows this weeks Mojo Monday #163. Still loving my BG Green at Heart dp too. So much so, that I think you'll be rather sick of seeing it by week's end!

With my leftover scraps, I decided to make cute tags for May Day. I like leaving May Day plants on doorsteps. Such a fun way to bring cheer! Thought these tags would make a fun, easy way to leave a note with the plant.

Materials
Stamps: Unity March KOTM
Paper: BG Green at Heart, CTMH cs
Other: Copics, CTMH inks and edge distresser, EK border punch, misc. ribbon, foam tape, CB Swiss Dot folder

It's here! It's finally here!!

FINALLY!! The "Glee" premier day has arrived! It seems like the wait has been FOREVER! I can't wait to see all the shenanigans the Mc Kinley High gang gets into this time. Bring on the singing, dancing happiness......and Sue's wacky comments! :D

Now, onto an actual card (Lol!):

Another Chanter card. Just colored her slightly different and used some more beautiful Kioshi paper. I must say that Chanter is my favorite of the Sweet November fairies. She just looks so sweet and innocent. She's fun to color too!

This "kinda" follows the Unscripted Sketch #50 I really love this green ribbon. Thanks Chrissy!

Alright fellow "Gleeks", hope you clear your schedules tonight! It's going to be terrific!!

Late Mojo

Nothing like a last-minute post to squeeze into a contest! I'm a GREAT procrastinator! Lol! So this is for the Mojo Monday sketch from last Monday. Fun little sketch. Great chance for me to use some of this beautiful ribbon my friend Chrissy sold me. So pretty!
Isn't this image cute?! It's from the March Unity KOTM. I needed to make a sympathy card for my good friend Josie's parents. Josie just lost fer grandfather this week, and I wanted to send her parents a card to let them know I'm thinking of them. I'll actually be seeing them all tonight at Josie's where she's going to be making us a fabulous dinner. I love having a chef as a friend!

"Green" Ketto

I'm loving this new BG paper! I had a lot of fun coloring images to match it too. I need to seriously restock my backstock of birthday cards, so I'm afraid that's most of what you're going to see for a while.
This layout (semi) follows Mercy's sketch #67 from last week. After I assembled it, I realized that I did it a little wrong. Oh well, it's still cute! Only 4 days and a wake-up until GLEE comes back!!

Simple but oh-so cute!

When I first flipped through my new Kioshi paper, I saw this sheet and I knew it would make a super simple, yet nicely elegant card. And!...I also knew that Chanter would be the perfect complement! Doesn't she just look so happy?! This follows the Sweet Sunday Sketch #63.
Still haven't found my Coluzzle knife, but Fiskars makes a swivel knife and it works perfect! Yay!
Only 5 more days until GLEE is back! AND!....Neil Patrick Harris as a special guest star?! Shut-up! I can hardly wait!

Happy Birthday Katie!!

....yesterday. Another birthday, another card. My friend Katie celebrated her 25th birthday yesterday. Good times of pizza and beer at our favorite hang out, The Rock. The spry little Dahlia was a perfect choice for Katie's birthday card. Katie is just as spunky and unique. Shoulda colored her with more reddish hair though since Katie's a redhead.

This layout follows this weeks Sketchy Saturday over at Club Anya & Friends. Good thing they allow spouts in their challenges now, since I tend to lean toward them more. Finally played with my new Basic Grey paper too. Love it!

So GLEE fans....did you watch the special Oprah show yesterday with the cast of "Glee"?! oh yeah, AWESOME! Only 6 more days!!

***HAPPY BIRTHDAY SPARKLE!!***

It's my friend Sparkle's birthday TODAY, so make sure you stop by her blog and wish her a happy birthday! Of course I had to add "sparkle" to her card too. Hee hee! She'll most likely see this card here before she gets it in her mailbox today, but oh well. At least it will be on time. ;)
It has been sooooo long since I've had the time (and construction-free space) to play with my crafts. Oh, how I missed it so! I brought images to color over to Mom's for Easter yesterday and got quite a few colored. Today I will make them into cards. I'm sad though......I think I lost my Coluzzle knife somewhere on the way to CU because I've looked EVERYWHERE and can't find it. *sniff sniff* Now that Coluzzle is no longer, it's going to be a miracle to find a new knife.
Well, the good thing is that I'm back to blogging! Thank you for sticking around and waiting.
