The Greeting Farm RELEASE DAY!!

Happy release day everyone!! This is one of the most anticipated releases in a long time with the NEW Miss Anya Lounge debut! Miss Anya has always been a favorite of mine!

And speaking of releases....there are some super-stinkin'-cute Marina Neira images out today too! I absolutely LOVE all the adorable new Halloween Critters!! When I was given the preview, I was like "Oh! I love that one...Oh! I love that one too"! Hee hee! Halloween is my favorite time to make cards and have a ghoulishly good time!

Today, of course, is also Friday which means The Greeting Farm has another fabulous challenge! This week you are given options of either the color challenge or the altering challenge. Head on over to the TGF blog for all the deets.

For my card today I decided to do a bit of a combo of both challenges. For the color challenge I used CTMH Chocolate cs that I embossed, then since I didn't have much Olive cs, I decided to take this subtle cream Veranda dp and stamp on it with my Olive ink. I was able to use some of my new "birthday" PTI chartreuse ribbon too. I altered the Ivy image by cropping out her bat friend to downsize the image and give more room for the embossing to show.

So EVERYONE is playing along with the challenge today. Hop on through the blogs for some major inspiration! Don't forget that there will be some release chatter happening at 7pm CST on the TGF PCP page!

SCRSC #12 and CMC #5

Hello all! Sorry I haven't blogged in a few days. Busy little bee here. BUT....I had time to play Tuesday night when my friends Nona, Sparkle, and Rachel came over for our monthly craft night. AND....Sparkle brought me her stamps I ordered! Yay! I couldn't wait to color up the newest Lucy image. Broomstick Lucy is so fun and my kind of Halloween image! Isn't she cute?!

So I made this card using the sketch from this week's SCRSC #12. It's also for this week's Color Me Copic challenge #5 of coloring animals. I wanted the cat to look kinda mangy, so I was a bit more sporadic in the coloring and shading. Sparkle is sponsoring the CMC challenge! $15 in store credit is up for grabs! She's also gracious enough to offer 10% off all Sparkle Creation Rubber Stamp orders through the end of the challenge for everyone that participates in the CMC challenge!! Whoo hoo! So head on over to CMC for the challenge and the discount code, then go shopping at SCRS!!

Materials
Stamps: SCRS Broomstick Lucy, sentiment is A Muse
Paper: Making Memories B&W dp, BG Eerie orange dp, Bo Bunny purple dp, PTI cs
Other: Copics, foam tape, Stickles, Coluzzle, Memento ink, CTMH ink and edge distresser

A Boo-tastic Preview!

Hey, everyone!

Today is an exciting day of more previews and announcements at The Greeting Farm, and this time the Critter-or shall I say -BOO CREW has some "spooktacular" new designs to show you.....AND some new DESIGNERS!

A HUGE welcome to MARGIE CORTINAand SAMMI BETBEDER! They'll be joining our fun and fuzzy little world for the next few months and we are thrilled to have them with us :)
Today I'm sharing the *NEW* adorable Toby image! Isn't he stinkin' cute?!! So "sweet" and cuddly. I had a lot of fun coloring this image and used the opportunity of the greens and oranges to use my two new ink colors from CTMH: Pear and Sunset. I sponged the Pear using my Nestie as a stencil and I stamped the sentiment in Sunset. I also added some Liquid Glass to his lollipop to make it look like a yummy, glossy sucker. Green lollipops are my fav.
Be sure to stop by the TGF Blog and then the Critter Crew's Blogs as well, because we are giving away not one, but TWO sets of the ENTIRE October digi collection by Marina. All you have to do is leave a comment and we'll announce the winners tomorrow!

My new addiction

Happy Football Day everyone!! :D (GO Seahawks!)

I've been addicted to making these corner bookmarks. ATS had it as one of their weekly challenges a while back, and I finally got around to watching the tutorial. They are so easy to make! And you can decorate them however you want, even adjust the size. And they're a GREAT way to use up those scraps that have been hanging around your craft table too long! I made a whole slew of them and giving them out to my friends who love to read.

Here are some more I made....

I love quotes! I think I'll make some more to sell using my other quote stamps. I made a few cute kiddo ones with frogs and bugs on them. Inspiring kids to read is always a good thing!
Materials: I used a bunch of different products for all of these. If you'd like to know what they were, just leave a comment.

Farm Fresh Friday--Mercy's sketch

Welcome to another edition of Farm Fresh Friday! This week's challenge is a sketch by the uber-talented Mercy Kerin! I *love* me a Mercy sketch! They are the best!

I used it with the fun and adorable Toby Painter. This image was a great opportunity to use my bright BG June Bug dp. Totally plays off the primary paint color palette that Toby has going on here. Now originally I didn't have the yellow shadow, but I had a little "oopsy" with my orange Copic. I tried blending it out with the yellow outline and just keep blending out in varigated yellow. I think it turned out pretty cool! Like I tell my monthly card class members, "Every 'oopsy' is another creative opportunity"!

Go check out the TGF blog for all the details on today's FFF challenge. Also check out all the awesome creations from the Farmers and Critter Crew DT!

AND...stay tuned this Monday for some awesome release previews!!

MTSC #92

I love Mercy's sketches! This week's MTSC #92 sketch had a particular calling for me. TGF Sailor Seal image by Marina Neira called out to me as the perfect image for the sketch.

This is the first time I've been able to play with Sailor and he is so stinkin' cute! And I just had to play off the cupcakes by using my BG Nook & Pantry dp (haven't I used all this paper yet?!). I'm still trying to use up these Making Memories fabric tags I've had FOR-eva! This cool ruffled ribbon worked great for the scallop border in the sketch too!

Enjoy your Thursday! Tonight is the last of my show premiers. Bones is on tonight and I can't wait for the new stories of Booth and Brennan and the rest of the team. :D I'll be back late tonight with the next Farm Fresh Friday challenge, so come back and visit!

A little hunting

Check this out! I made this the other day...well, I really made three because they were so cool! I was hunting through my paper stash in search of Halloween paper when I came across this printed transparency I bought over a year ago.

...and then the lightbulb went on. I stamped out some 50's Lilith images and these cute little chipboard/felt hearts I bought on a whim a few months ago and it all came together. Did you see the cool skull metallic ribbon I found in the dollar bin at Target a couple days ago?! Totally rad! I had this great idea to paper piece Lilith's skirt and then realized I had to then paper piece the skulls. That was a project! But I really like how it turned out. I also tried Amy Young's straight hair coloring technique shown at the Color Me Copic blog. Way cool and so informational!

So here's the inside of the card:
And here's the back of the card:
Making these totally made me happy and excited! Plus the "Glee" season premier last night. AWESOME!! That Sunshine girl can SING! :D "Survivor" is on tonight. Hope they don't boot Coach Jimmy off quite yet.
Materials
Stamps: TPS 50's Lilith, CTMH For All Occasions
Paper: Printed transparency by Hambly, CTMH Gypsy cs, PTI white cs, Making Memories dotted dp
Other: Copics, CTMH inks, Memento ink, Stickles, misc. gingham ribbon, Target $1 bin skull ribbon, Recollections heart embellie

Bellariffic "Friday"

I know it's not Friday, but this is what I created for this week's Bellariffic Friday which asked for us to use piercing and stitching. I decided to use my CTMH Simple Stitches and skip the sewing machine. I also used last week's challenge with the sketch since I missed out. The flower is made simply with circle cut outs that I distressed and layered.

It's finally the season premier of Glee tonight!! I've been waiting forever!
Materials
Stamps: Stamping Bella PregaBella, CTMH For All Occasions and Simple Stitches
Paper: CC Earth Love dp, A Muse kreaft, CTMH cs
Other: Copics, CTMH inks, paper piercer, rub-ons, and brad, Coluzzle, EK punches

Cute as a button LLBC #15

Good morning everyone! Happy Monday. It's the LAST day of my week long vacation. :( It's been a very nice, and much needed, relaxing time off. A couple of days I didn't even make it out of my PJs!

Yesterday was one of those PJ days and I spent most of it watching football and crafting. I made this card for this week's Lil Lolita Boutique Challenge #15 which calls for the use of buttons. Easy enough for me since I use them pretty much on every card! I kept it subtle with the two little buttons along side the yellow rose. I wanted to use this rose so bad to mimic Evie's rose that I almost forgot to use buttons! And did you notice that I used my new favorite FTL #107 from Clean and Simple? Love it! Tweaked it a bit with the placement of the sentiment.

This was also the LAST of this CTMH Magic Moments paper pack! Yippee! Another one bites the dust! Which is why I decided to share this second card I made with the last of the scraps. Kinda sad though since this paper was recently discontinued. It was one of my favs for a long time. I played of my new PTI Button Bits set by punching circles from the last of the scrap and then adhearing a button on top. I really like how this turned out.

Materials
Stamps: TPS 20's Evie digi, CTMH Fringed Phrases, PTI Button Bits
Paper: CTMH Magic Moments L2pp, A Muse kraft
Other: Copics, CTMH inks, buttons, and hemp, CB folder, EK punches

It's here! It's here!

**Happy Birthday to me!** Look what arrived in the mail yesterday!! My FIRST EVER order from Papertrey! This was my birthday present to myself (my birthday was on the 12th). I've been hearing nothing but good things about PTI cardstock with Copics, so I thought I'd give it a go. I also picked up some kraft paper (which is a lot like my A Muse kraft, just a smidge darker), Button Bits stamp set (been drooling over this one for awhile), Lily of the Valley stamp set, spools of Hawaiian Shores, Chartuese, Berry Sorbet, Black, and Ocean Tide, then the matching buttons in Hawaiian Shores, Chartuese, and Berry Sorbet.

Yippee!! I'll be stamping and printing digis on my new cardstock before I leave for a bridal shower here in a bit. Can't wait to try it!

I already used the Button Bits stamp set, and here's what I made using the C&S FTL #107. This is one of my fav FTLs that I will for sure be using again and again.

Bye bye cute dot Eva dp, you've been fun. :( I also found some more scraps of CTMH Daydream dp that I thought I used up. Grr! I think this is finally the last of it. I used some on a card I'll share later too.

Aren't these cute and simple?! LOVE this stamp set, and the quality is just as good as my CTMH sets. *Don't tell them I said that ;)

(Sorry for the late post. Who knew that fire alarm tests effects my cable and internet connection?)

Materials
Stamps: PTI Button Bits
Paper: CTMH Daydream L2pp and cs, BG Eva dp
Other: CTMH Olive button and inks, EK punches, misc. flower buttons and pink and lime buttons

Farm Fresh Friday--"Old School"!

"TGF is goin' OLD SCHOOL! In honor of Back to School time, we thought we'd do a traditional "Back to School" challenge until Jess and Marie decided, why not go OLD SCHOOL?

So here's the deal.

In order to be considered truly OLD SCHOOL, it's easier to limit the stamps to what you cannot use vs. what you can: You CANNOT use:

*Wild Sprouts
*Cheeky Cherry collection
*Oliver/Amelia Stamps
*Creepers or Creepy Cakes
*Any Anya AFTER the release of WILD WEST ANYA (Spring/Summer 09)
*Any Ian AFTER the releases of SKATER IAN (Spring 09)
*Miss Anyas/My Guy Ians
*Any Critter Crew images
*Grandparents/Darling Sisters

If you have specific questions, you can email Jessica at teamanya@gmail.com. Just think OLD SCHOOL. Older the better :)

Speaking of OLD....how old is this Angel Anya? This was one of the first Anyas I ever bought. Came in handy though since I was asked to make a card for someone who loves angels. I was going to color her using my "old school" colored pencils, but since it was for a third-party I wanted it to look more professional. I paper pieced her dress and bow and I was able to use up some of my "old" Daydream dp too! I fact, that was the last of it!! YAY! I love the look of the ruffled ribbon and the pretty pin too.

This contest will be opened for a few weeks. The winner of this contest will be crowned OLD SCHOOL CHAMP and receive the ENTIRE October release along with an old, smelly pair of Converse All-Stars aka Chuck Taylors!! (ok, KIDDING on the latter prize!)

A runner up will ALSO win a 4x6 set of their choice! This will be a random contest, but hey, why not a runner up too? :)

The contest winner will be announced on Monday, September September 27th during our first October Preview post. That's a lot of time, so get busy and get OLD SCHOOL! You have until Sunday, Sept 26th at 8pm CST to enter your card.

Head on over to the TGF blog for more details and inspirations!

Materials
Stamps: TGF Angel Anya and Anya Says
Paper: CTMH Dayream L2PP
Other: Copics, foam tape, Memento ink, CTMH ink, paper piercer, ribbon, and pretty pin, Stickles

SCRSC #10 with a "new" technique

Good morning everyone! I bring you today's card which is my entry for both this week's SFYTT and SCRS challenge #10. Sparkle's challenge is a color challenge: Orange, green and cream. When I saw this color combo, I instantly thought of this CTMH Splendor paper pack; one of my all time favorites. I tried to cover up all the blue, but that one flower was in the wrong spot. ;)

This also gave me a change to try my hand at some rolled paper flowers. For this cool technique, check out Tresa Black's post here. So easy, and sooo fun! You'll most likely be seeing these again!
Stay tuned tomorrow for a "flashback" Farm Fresh Friday!

Well, my vacation is now half way over :( and I pretty much haven't done anything! A couple meetings, my birthday, and a card class so far (ok, that's a few things. lol!). But the rest of the time I've been a lounging BUM!! That's what vacations are all about I guess!

Materials
Stamps: SCRS Charlotte with Rose, sentiment is A Muse
Paper: CTMH Splendor L2pp, A Muse kraft
Other: Copics, CMTH inks, Memento ink, CB folder, stitching, rhinestones

LLBC #14 with a new sketch challenge

Good (late) morning everyone. I wasted soooo much time this morning trying to use my Photobucket account to upload these, but I kept having sizing issues, so I gave up. I really need to upgrade my photoshop so I can do watermarks.

Anyways....today's card is for this week's Lil' Lolita Boutique challenge #14 which calls for you to involve music. This was a tought challenge for me. I ended up having to think outside the box on this one. I've had this 60's Ivy image colored for a couple weeks now, and I had an epiphany with the paper. Birds, singing, music notes. I also added more stamped notes to the Prima. Yay! It works!

I also used a sketch from a challenge site I recently discovered: The Sweet Stop. Now they've obviously been around awhile since they're now on challenge #73! New to me though! So I did use sketch #73 for this card.

"And then".....(lol!) I used the scraps from Ivy's card to created this SCRS Turntable Josh card for my friend's birthday this Sunday. ANOTHER Sept. birthday! I swear I have like 20 birthdays this month!

Materials

Stamps: TPS 60's Ivy digi, SCRS Turntable Josh, "birdie" A Muse sentiment, CTMH Say it in Style and Hot Diggity (music notes)

Paper: BG Offbeat dp, A Muse kraft, CTMH cs

Other: Copics, CTMH ink, brads, edge distresser, paper piercer, and button, Prima flowers, misc. ribbon, Coluzzle

Mojo to help my Mojo

Sorry I've been M.I.A. lately. I had quite the whirlwind birthday weekend and kinda lost my crafty mojo along the way. I seriously just lounged around all day yesterday. I tried to craft, but just ended up staring at my supplies trying to will them to do something! Haha!

So thank you Mojo Monday for helping me get my mojo back! I've had this Bella image colored for awhile now, and thought it fit well with the Mojo #156 sketch. I layered the lace in between the dp and as the "scallop" along the bottom. The ribbon is what through me though. The image was to large to wrap ribbon around like the sketch showed, so I went with just the bow.
Here's what I did on my birthday:

My WONDERFUL little brother bought me these totally awesome (and close!) seats to the Seahawks' season opening game. Now I have to tell you how awesome my brother is....he called me from his Army base in Kandahar, Afghanistan to tell me that he found me tickets to the game for my birthday! He's over there, risking his life everyday, and thought this wonderful gift for my birthday! I love my brother!! I took my good friend Rachel with me, and ended up meeting up with a lot of other friends who were at the game too. It was a perfect day filled with tailgating, a most excellent, and winning game (31-6 win!), and ended at a local brewery near my house.

Materials
Stamps: Stamping Bella BrideaBella, BG sentiment
Paper: BG Eva dp, CTMH cs
Other: Copics, foam tape, Nestie die, CTMH inks and Opaques pearl, Memento ink, Stickles, misc. lace

September Card Class

Hello all! Quick post to share the three cards my classes will be making. Well, technically one class already made them this last Thursday, and they LOVED these cards. They all use the *NEW* CTMH Magnifique paper pack, Circle of Love stamp set, and A Posy stamp set.

The first one is inspired by Tresa Black's "Joseph's Coat" technique from her UStream channel. Check it out! It's super "fabulous"! Since the peacock image is so large, I kept the layout simple so not to take away from the image. I added the *new* Sparkles in blue/green. LOVE them!

Here's a close up of the embossing with the ink showing through underneath:

This next one was something that just "happened". I knew I wanted to create a versitle card that could be feminine or masculine. I really like how it turned out.
The last uses the A Posy stamp set. This was a set that at first I wasn't too hot about, but after seeing multiple creations using it (including from my CTMH sistah, Vicki) I caved....and I'm sooo glad I did! This set is only $7.95 and worth every penny! It includes all the flower parts and this cute sentiment. Did you notice that I did absolutely NO distressing on this card?! That's a first for me! The layout is from the CTMH Wishes Card Confidence book.

Materials (all CTMH)
Stamps: Circle of Love, A Posy, Simple Stitches, Say it in Style, For All Occasions
Paper: Magnifique L2PP, Grey Wool cs
Other: Embossing powder, Lagoon, Pacifica, Chocolate, Heavenly Blue, Grey Wool, and Black inks, colonial white brads, basic collections buttons, hemp, Sparkles, edge distresser, Coluzzle

Farm Fresh Friday--"You Move Me"

Welcome to another edition of Farm Fresh Friday. This week the challenge is "You Move Me"! Add something to the card that moves. Could be a flower that spins, shaker box, slider card or maybe a tag that pulls out. Anything that will move!

For my card, I took advantage of this week's Sketch Saturday #119 to make a hinged card. The front image panel flips up to reveal the "inside" of the card. I made this for my friend Steve whom I've known since college. His birthday was yesterday (well it still is for a few more hours since I'm on the west coast)--another fellow Virgo! Hope this super-thick card made it to his mailbox in one piece!

Here's the inside:

Scooter Chloe--SCRSC #9

Good afternoon everyone! Sorry for a late post again. I went to take pictures of my cards last night and my battery was dead.....so was my back up battery! Ugh!

So now that I'm off work, I can finally share my card for this week's Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps Challenge #9 which calls for buttons and bling. Well, that's an easy one! Very fitting challenge for Miss Sparkle herself! In fact, I used one of Sparkle's favorite A Muse sentiments just for this card. :D And since SCRS is sponsoring this week's Oh Alice challenge, I decided to play along with that too. I also used Mercy's sketch #90.

Enjoy your Thursday. One of my two card classes is tonight. I'll share the cards on Saturday, so stay tuned!

Materials

Another Bella--SSSC #84

This is one of my favorite Bellas. Maybe it's because I never leave for work in the morning without my coffee! I had colored a bunch of images when I hung out with Nona, Sparkle, and Jen a while ago and now I have everything ready to go to actually keep up with challenges this week! Shocker!

This card uses this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch #84. I rotated the sketch to fit my Bella, which made it so I had to put the sentiment on it's side which is something I never really do. It still kinda weirds me out that it's on there like that, but oh well. But hey! Look at how (almost) straight my stitching is! :D

Enjoy your Wednesday. Time for me to catch up on some projects and get ready for one of my card classes tomorrow.

Materials
Stamps: Stamping Bella LatteaBella
Paper: BG Green at Heart dp, A Muse kraft, CTMH cs
Other: Copics, EK punches, Prima flower, misc. button, stitching

MTSC #89

Good afternoon everyone. Sorry my post is a bit late. Too busy (and tired) last night to get it ready. Today I bring you a fun card I made using Mercy's sketch #89. This was a fun sketch, and TopiaryBella was the perfect image for it. My stitching is starting to be a little straighter! Lol! Looking better.

Enjoy your short work week! It's regular for me since I work retail, but I go on VACATION next week for my birthday!! And speaking of birthdays.....I have the BEST little brother ever. He called me from Afghanistan yesterday to tell me he found me two tickets to the Seahawks season opener next Sunday!! I've been wanting to go soooooo bad since the game is ON my birthday. Yay!! Better rest my vocal chords this week so I can scream for my team! Safeco's the loudest stadium; love it!!

Girly Girl and Special announcement

Hello everyone! Today I bring you a card for this week's Lil' Lolita Boutique Challenge #13 which calls for anything Girly Girl. Well pink, lace, and pearls seemed pretty girly to me! More scrap lace from Grandma was used here for the strip and to create the "flower". I knew I wanted to use this paper from my Cosmo Cricket pack, but I didn't have a pink that matched this shade just right. So after some experimentation, I discovered that if I laid down R22 as a base and then layered E31 over it, it helped change the tone to be closer to the color I needed.

Speaking of Lil' Lolita Boutique.....I have been chosen to be a guest DT for the month of October!! I'm so excited! Love the Lolitas and can't wait to have fun with the LLBC. Kellie says that October should not be missed. Do I hear a NEW release coming?!

I hope you're enjoying your holiday weekend. I actually don't have to work today since it's my normal day off, so Mom and I are going Goodwill shopping! We LOVE to go looking for treasures and find cool stuff. I often find craft items that I use on my cards.

Materials
Stamps: TPS Lil' Lolita 20's Evie digi, CTMH Thoughtful Sentiments
Paper: Cosmo Cricket Earth Love dp, CTMH cs, A Muse kraft
Other: Copics, foam tape, CTMH ink and stick pin, Stickles, EK corner rounder, adhesive pearls, misc. button and scrap lace.

Lucy--SCRSC #8

Back again today with my card for this week's Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps Challenge #8 which is an inspiration challenge. Here's the inspiring picture courtesy of the Pottery Barn:

I played off the colors of blue, green and yellow. Then I thought adding the kraft would play in with the furniture too. I added "candlelight" with the rhinestones and Stickles. And then, of course, is the water. I'm usually not very excited about inspiration challenges, but I think this turned out great!

Enjoy your Labor Day Weekend! It's my Friday, so I'll still get some sort of holiday weekend.

Stamps: SCRS Swimming Lucy, CTMH Hot Diggity and Playful Flourishes

Paper: OA Fly a Kite dp, A Muse kraft, CTMH cs

Farm Fresh Friday "Rule of 3"

Hello everyone! Welcome to another edition of the FFF challenge! This week the challenge is "Rule of 3". Use at least THREE different DP's and THREE different embellishments (ex. not three buttons, but some buttons, ribbon, and bling-just has to be 3 different types!)

I barely snuck in my 3rd dp! Haha! I had this yellow one picked out, but when I tried to use a larger piece it made it too busy. That's when I decided to make it more subtle and have simple circles behind my red buttons. And the buttons are one of my 3 different embellishments: Buttons, Prima flower, and ribbon. :) I also used SSSC#83 for my layout.

Stop on by the TGF Blog for more details. Here's the list of DT blogs, so go and be inspired!

Fun with LLBC #12

I had a lot of fun with this card for the 'Lil Lolita Boutique Challenge #12. Yay for sketch challenges! Too bad I missed the linky deadline though. I took a great idea from my friend Amy Young about blowing up the digi image of Miss Lylah. This really worked well with this sketch, since the main image panel is more square and all the Lolitas are so tall and lean.

I found this cool piece of lace in my stash and it went perfectly with my Basic Grey dp. One thing with making Lolitas bigger is that their eyes are that much bigger too! I'm always a little bit intimidated when I color their eyes; I don't want them to look creepy! Lol! I need to work on my black hair coloring skills a little I think too.

Wish me luck! I threw my hat into the ring for a LLBC DT spot!
